Abstract:
The electrification of commercial fleets is one of the most promising processes for transition toward a more sustainable mobility. The role of companies that provide services in the urban area is relevant, since they manage the usage and circulation of means of transport that can have a huge impact on cities. We put in place preliminary surveys with firms potentially interested in these investments, to study the opportunities and challenges related to the adoption of electric mobility solutions in the provision of services. We have highlighted some considerations emerged from their experience, on the one hand the benefits on the environmental, maintenance and usage side of the pilot vehicles that are being tested, on the other hand the barriers to implementation related to costs, safety, and infrastructure constraints that the subjects involved find in approaching these changes. The vehicles involved in the last-mile logistics represent good candidates for these kinds of investments.
